Abstract:

Soil salinization is one of serious factors restricting the expansion of agriculture and forestry around the world. Jasmonic acid is closely associated with plants on salt tolerance. Ion fluxes were studied in the roots of Ammopiptanthus nanus, a second class national-level protected plant, by using non-invasive micro-test technique. The result showed that the plants with MeJA pretreatment have lower efflux of K+ and higher efflux of H+ than the plants without pretreatment under the stress of NaCl in the root cap. After short-term salt stress (50 mmol·L-1 NaCl, 24 h), the plants with MeJA pretreatment have higher Na+ efflux and H+ influx than the plants without pretreatment in root apex. The results indicate that suitable concentration of MeJA pretreatment can increase salt stress resistance of A. nanus at seedling stage.

Key words: salt stress; H+-ATPase; MeJA; non-invasive micro-test technique
